Technology Partner
Your technology should work as hard as you do.
You’re running a successful business. But if your systems are slowing your team down, costing you time, or stopping you from growing — something needs to change. I help business owners like you figure out what’s worth doing, and then I do it.
Does this sound familiar?
Most business owners I speak to recognise themselves in one or two of these. If any of them sound like you, the next step is a conversation, not a quote.
“We're still doing everything manually”
Spreadsheets, paper forms, phone calls. You know there's a better way but you're not sure where to start — or who to trust.
“Our off-the-shelf tools aren't enough any more”
You've got Xero, or Sage, or a booking system, but nothing talks to anything else. You're copying data between systems and it's eating your team's time.
“We had something built and it's not working”
Someone built you a system — an app, a portal, a database — and now it’s slow, clunky, expensive to maintain, or the original developer has disappeared.
“We've got an IT person but no one setting direction”
There's someone who keeps the computers running, but no one senior enough to decide what technology you should actually be investing in.
“We keep hearing about AI but don't know where to start”
You've seen what AI can do in the news. You want to know what's real, what applies to your business, and what's just hype.
See how I help businesses with AI“We got burned by an agency or freelancer”
You spent money on a technology project that went wrong. Now you're sitting on something half-finished and you don't know what to do next.
If any of that sounds like your situation, a 30-minute conversation is the best place to start.
How it works
A simple, low-commitment way to find out whether I can help your business — and to get a clear plan if I can.
We talk
A free 30-minute call where I learn about your business, your frustrations, and what you're trying to achieve. If I can help, I'll tell you how. If I can't, I'll tell you that too.
I assess your situation
A one-to-two-week assessment where I review your current systems, talk to the people who use them, and identify what’s actually worth changing. You get a clear written report — priorities, costs, and honest recommendations. No jargon, no 90-slide presentations. Typically £1,500–£2,500.
I make it happen
If you want to move forward, I lead the work personally. I bring in developers from my network when needed — senior people I've vetted and worked with before. You deal with me directly, not a project manager or an account executive. All the work belongs to you.
Industries I work with
The businesses that get the most out of working with me have one thing in common: they rely on technology even if technology isn’t their core business.
Construction & trades
Job tracking, quoting, project management — replacing the spreadsheets and paper that slow your team down.
Property & real estate
Tenant portals, maintenance tracking, portfolio management — systems that keep up with your growth.
Logistics & transport
Route planning, fleet tracking, customer updates — technology that saves fuel, time, and phone calls.
Retail & hospitality
Stock management, online ordering, customer experience — making your front-of-house and back-office work together.
Healthcare & care
Patient records, scheduling, compliance — systems that are secure, reliable, and don't waste clinicians' time.
Legal & professional services
Case management, document handling, client portals — moving beyond email attachments and shared drives.
Manufacturing
Production tracking, quality control, supplier management — visibility across your operation.
Energy & utilities
Asset management, compliance reporting, field operations — reliable systems for regulated environments.
Don’t see your industry? If your business uses technology — or should be — I can probably help.
Why me, not an IT company
IT companies and technology partners do different jobs. Both are useful — for different reasons.
I'm not here to sell you a support contract
IT support companies keep your systems running. I decide which systems you should be running in the first place. That’s a different job.
I don't have a product to push
I'm independent. I'll recommend whatever actually works for your business, even if that means keeping what you've got and fixing it rather than replacing everything.
I don't just give advice — I deliver
Most consultants hand you a report and wish you luck. I stay involved, lead the work, and bring a team to build what’s needed. One person accountable for the outcome.
I speak business, not jargon
I’ve worked with construction companies, property firms, logistics businesses, and healthcare providers. I know how to explain technology decisions in terms that matter to you: saving time, reducing costs, keeping customers happy.
If you’re a founder building a new product, you might be looking for fractional CTO services instead.
About me
I’m Ola Lawal, founder of STAAL & Co. I’ve spent my career leading technology teams that built systems for finance companies, health organisations, government departments, and energy firms — handling millions of transactions and meeting the strictest security standards.
I hold Security Clearance (SC) and I’m working toward Cyber Essentials certification. I founded STAAL because the kind of senior technology leadership I’d delivered inside large organisations wasn’t available to most business owners.
Let’s start with a conversation
A 30-minute call is usually enough to understand your situation and tell you whether I can help. No sales pitch, no obligation — just an honest conversation about your business.
